REPOTTING AND DIVIDING AN ORCHID
Remove the plant from its pot. If the roots are very congested it may be necessary to run a knife between the pot and rootball. Use a sharp knife to cut between parts of the rootball.
Carefully divide the plant into two or three equal parts, depending on its size.
Use a sharp knife or secateurs to cut away any dead roots. Old compost usually just falls away.
Place a thick layer of polystyrene (plastic foam) chips in the base of a clean pot to conserve moisture and ensure good drainage.
